Perceptions of Nursing and Midwifery

Happy Birthday NHS by Rachel Megan Cotton

I’ll remind y’all again… I’m not British. But 70 years of the National Health Service is nothing to sneeze at!

I’m a proponent of healthcare reform in the USA. We are a long way off from universal/socialized health care, but I have experienced socialized health in Sweden, England, and Australia. The USA could stand to learn a few things from such countries.

So, I’m over here shouting “Yaaay, NHS! Woo Hoo!” and singing a raucous rendition of “Happy Birthday to you!”

BTW, It’s my mum’s birthday today too… Not QUITE as old as you, NHS… But perhaps I’ll be singing “Happy birthdaaaaaay dear Mum (and NHS), happy birthday to yoooouuuuu!” LOL
