Perceptions of Nursing and Midwifery

Through the eyes of children

getting school children to interview nurses and midwives , extracting stories and nuggets of brilliance. Then running a competition whereby children either do a bit of f creative writing or upload the interview on social media. The point would  be for children to influence other children about the wonderful career to be had as a nurse or midwife., but do this through the eyes and ears of the child.

I like the idea of getting children to interview staff, great opportunity for us to gain an understanding of what their perceptions are of nursing as a career and gathering stories is always a good thing.

I like this idea - children say what they see - and it's a great way of getting them involved!

Just tweeted this great idea . I love the fact it let’s children ask what they want to know and also gets them thinking of how to ask questions and extract information from people. Genius to then get the children to pass the information on to other children via creative writing etc lets children interpret and convert the information they gain into a language other children will understand better and be more interested in then if we write it. This idea will be bouncing around my brain all day now

Loving this - we also included children and young people in staff interviews when recruiting nurses - it was fabulous insight
